Gather ’round all of you rom-com lovers. Netflix has just announced some news that may just have us more excited than drunk eating pizza.
Netflix has just announced that Set It Up stars Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell will be teaming back up with writer Katie Silberman for a new rom-com! The See What’s Next twitter account also revealed that the movie is tentatively called Most Dangerous Game. Live footage of us reading this news:
Last year, Netflix dove head first into the rom-com genre, whipping out lovable films such as The Kissing Booth, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, When We First Met, and Set It Up. The latter followed Powell and Deutch as two overworked and underpaid assistants who come up with the brilliant idea to set up their powerhouse bosses in order to ease their workload. Of course, as they do so…sparks fly between them as well.
The pair had undeniable chemistry and the film’s overall aesthetic and vibe mirrored that of popular rom-coms from the ’90s. So, why a new film and not a sequel?
“We are excited by the thought of creating a new, distinct film that explores different romantic comedy tropes while still being anchored in everything that we loved about the first movie,” producer Justin Nappi said.
Well, consider us signed up! In addition, Netflix is also working on a sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, which was one of the platform’s most streamed titles of 2018. Are you excited to see Powell and Deutch reuniting for a new movie? Let us know! You can check out the full tweet from See What’s Next below!
